Wally

This owl has a bit of history behind it. It was inspired by a painting I did way back in 2013, one that has always been a favourite of mine. But this piece marks a bit of a shift for me. It’s the first time I’ve played with a matte background, which really lets the owl take center stage. The feathers are built up with layers of gel, giving them a glossy, almost sculptural feel that pops against the bold green. I love the mix of texture and contrasts playful, a little unexpected, and full of character.
